Happy Fall!

This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkins, ride on a hayride, and buy apple donuts! It was a lot of fun. The boys fed the goats - even Tyler! I also bought mums to plant for the porch. Andy drilled holes in my planters so the water could drain out and not oversoak the flowers. It looks so nice out there now! I bought a new door mat and a sign that is fallish to hang on the door. I tried two new recipes, buttered rosemary rolls and pumpkin pie squares. I didn't use rosemary on the rolls because that is one of the few herbs I don't have...I just used dried italian seasoning. The pumpkin pie squares are pretty good, but not exceptional! I have many more pumpkin recipes I'm wanting to make this fall. Yum!

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch!

This past Saturday we finally made it to the pumpkin patch! It was a fun time. We were glad to have Mimi and Poppy join us for the fun. The boys had a great time choosing their pumpkins, riding in the wagon, and riding on the train. They had been to the play area not too long ago for a birthday party so we decided not to spend a small fortune on that! We bought a few apples, donuts, and pumpkins. As soon as we got home we started working on our pumpkins. The boys finished carving them on Sunday and they look great! I'll have to take pics of their carved pumpkins.

Checkout the new fire helmet Wilson saved his allowance up to buy! He wore it all weekend!

Pumpkin Patch!

On Thursday we decided to go to the Pumpkin Patch! I thought it would be a good idea to avoid a Saturday and Andy was home so we went to Boyd's Orchard. We started by letting the boys choose a pumpkin each. That was fun! Then we went inside to buy our pumpkins and some delicious apple donuts. After eating a donut we headed out to the play area. The boys went down the big slides, played in the sand, and went to the petting zoo. They fed the sheep and the goats. It was a really fun day! On the way home Wilson asked where the girl's orchard is...(Boyd's sounded like Boy's to him!).

To the Pumpkin Patch we go!

(Make sure to hover your mouse over the pics to read the captions!) We had a great time at the orchard on Saturday! Stephanie, Meghan, Lily and Trey all went too. We found a perfect pumpkin to carve and Wilson and Luke each got a smaller pumpkin of their own too. Then we played! Luke and Trey rode a train. Wilson played in the sand and climbed hay mountains. It was a blast! After a snack and listening to the live music we were ready to leave. It took a little convincing on Will's part. He realized there were lots of fun things to do other than the sand!! We were really worn out by the time we got home. We bought some fresh apple donuts to take home- boy were they good on Sunday morning!
