Towards the end of July we went to Snowshoe, WV with The M. Clan. The men and kids who are potty trained went camping and the girls and non-potty trained kids (+ Lily who doesn't like backpacking!!) stayed in a nice house on Snowshoe Mountain! It was a great few days. I had fun with my sister in laws, mother in law, and Nanny. It was a nice break to only have Ty to take care of at the house. The girls played games, went for walks, got in the hot tub, made cake pops, watched a movie, stayed up late talking, and really just enjoyed being together. The men folk had a great time in the Wilderness! Enjoy the pics! We did this a couple of years ago too. You can see those posts here and here. Sorry for the delay, with back to school I've not had much time for the blog.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Last week I went to Pipestem in West Virginia with my 3 sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, 3 baby boys (one was Luke!) and Andy's Nanny. We had the BEST time! We all met up at Nanny's house and sent the Guy's and bigger kids on their adventure (See later post!). Then we loaded up in 2 vans since there were 9 of us and drove to Pipestem. On the way we stopped in a quaint little town for lunch and shopping. The shops are neat and more like boutiques. There is a great toy store there so a couple Santas did some Christmas shopping! It was fun. Then we drove on to Pipestem. When we got there we unpacked into our 3 rooms. Stephanie, Trey, Luke and I roomed together. Katie and Erin roomed together with Finley and Nanny and Carol roomed together. We went to the lodge restaurant for dinner so we didn't have to load the babies into their carseats again. After dinner the boys took a bath and went to bed so the girls could have some fun! I brought the baby monitor so we were able to sit in the hallway and hear all of the babies just in case. We played Apples to Apples and talked and laughed. It was soo fun. We were all able to enjoy each other with having fewer kids to watch etc.
The next day we woke up and had breakfast in the room. Then Katie, Erin, Stephanie and I went to the workout room to exercise. We did the treadmill and weights while Nanny and Carol watched the boys. We were hoping to find a spa of some kind to get manis, pedis or a massage- but no one could take 6 adults on such short notice. (We'll call ahead next time!). So instead we all got ready and went to eat pizza for lunch. Then we drove to a mall a little ways away and shopped. The boys played in the play area, got balloons, and a cookie! Everybody bought something. Many of us bought pants or a jacket because it was so cool in WV. It felt so nice outside (even though it rained almost the whole time we were there!). After shopping we headed back to Pipestem in time for dinner at the lodge again so we could take the boys swimming afterwards. The pool was heated and felt like bathwater. It was an indoor pool and it felt so good. The boys had a great time swimming. After they had baths we put the boys to bed and met in the hallway for another round of Apples to Apples. This time we had snacks and a good long talk too. It was so nice. I feel like I know each one of my in-laws (sisters and mother) even better! We had a GREAT time and I really hope we get away together again soon. Here is Luke and Finley helping us get the luggage to the car before we met up with the guys! They rode all over the lodge like this. It was so cute!

I'm Baaack!!

The days just keep flyin' by! We just returned today from WV for a short trip with Andy's family. It was a blast! There will be a couple more posts later. The girls and babies stayed at Pipestem, a resort/lodge and the boys and kids went backpacking near the Cranberry river. I haven't had as much fun as I did in a long time! I can't wait to tell you all about it! Andy and Wilson seem exhausted from their backpacking trip. Us girls did a lot of talking, laughing, joking, playing Apples to Apples, eating, shopping, and basically reconnecting. It was GREAT! Andy had the camera on his trip so Steph and Erin are going to send me our great pics for a later post!
