Hello again!

Wow. It's been a LONG time. Just can't keep up with everything! Here's what we've been up to:

* Tyler is potty training! He has #1 mastered (not at night) but he refuses to poop. He holds it and won't go to the bathroom. I got him to go on the potty one time. Andy & I are pretty frustrated with this. He won't even try!
* We went to Florida over fall break to visit Mimi & Poppy. We had a great visit. We drove which was a long trip but it was worth it. We spent an afternoon at a lovely beach, we were at Legoland on the opening day!, and spent time with family. We got to visit Nanny B in her new assisted living apartment & see Katie & David's townhouse. I'll do a Legoland post sometime.
* I had a girl's weekend in Gatlinburg with several school friends. We shopped, talked, ate, and laughed a lot. It was a great time!
* Andy has his birthday this past Saturday. We celebrated with pumpkin dessert, dinner at O'Charleys, and I got him a new cell phone for his b-day. I think he had a good day.
* Here are 2 recipes I think you should try! Both of these are from my sister. Delicious crockpot recipes! Chicken Tortilla Soup & BBQ. The barbeque is so good. It uses a can of root beer, a pork tenderloin, & bbq sauce. We recommend Sweet Baby Ray's! I'm not a huge fan of BBQ but I loved this.

Why?

Please pray for Cara, Jason and Silas. Why do things have to happen like this? Things were moving so well and the tentative travel date was set for the end of June. Not anymore. Stupid Fed Ex.

I guess this is not a smooth adoption time. My friend Jenn is also having adoption trouble with Guatemala. Stupid new PGN guy.

Sorry for the negative post. I just hate this for both of them. It makes your heart hurt. They want their babies so badly to be home and with their forever families. I wish that things would just miraculously work out SOON. I believe in miracles! Pray!

Clueless

So did you know we had a lot of storms last night? I sure didn't! I know it rained all day yesterday and there were tornado warnings (or watches, I can never keep those straight). But I put the boys to bed, worked on my national board video with Andy, watched Friends, and went to bed. Didn't become conscious again until by alarm went off at 6:30. I'm taking a National Board Day so I got to sleep in a little bit. (Hard to call that sleeping in, I know). And yes, I'm at the library working on a portfolio entry, just needed a short break. Andy might give me grief for posting during my NB work day! But it's going to be quick and short. So anyway, I just had to tell you that I slept hard and my dear sweet protector husband was staying awake, watching the weather, to make sure that everything was ok. He was ready to get me and the boys up if a tornado came through or anything. That just made me feel so good. Here, I was clueless to the world, in a dead sleep and he was up to make sure we were all okay. I love him! Thanks, baby. So anyway, I got up and started working on NB. Jenn called to tell me that our school had no electricity. So the kids that were coming in were in the cafeteria, some kids were going straight back home, and some who rode the bus ended up at the nearby high school! Crazy! Here I didn't even know it had stormed yet because I hadn't talked to Andy. I'm glad he let me be clueless last night because I was SO tired!

Happy New Year!

Hmmph.
School starts tomorrow. Unless we have a snow day! My street is covered in snow so maybe... Anyway I went to the walk-in clinic today and got a z-pack for bronchitis. Yuck. I didn't manage to keep from getting sick. I fought it for a while! With this new year ahead of us I thought I'd tell you about 2 new things I'm using these days. I love them!
1. Facebook- I have gotten "in touch" with over 50 friends in the last few weeks on Facebook. I love it! It is a quick, easy way to stay in touch with tons of people. I've found friends I grew up with, went to high school/church/college with etc. Love it! If you want to look into it and possibly get a profile page go here.

2. Google Reader- I read about google reader on Sarah's blog. I thought it sounded convenient and something I should try but never got around to it...until this week! I love it! It has all of the blogs I check in one spot now. Like a blog inbox. It tells me which blogs have been updated so I don't have to check all the blogs I read to see if they were updated or not. Love it! Huge time saver. I know I could just not read the blogs, but what fun would that be? Then I wouldn't see all the great pictures or know what is going on in everyone else's life! I'm addicted to reading several blogs now! If you want to try google reader, go here!
