Going to CA!

So Silas is having ear surgery for his microtia in June. They have to travel to Los Angeles, CA for the surgery. Cara and Jason have to be at the hospital at 6am and then will have an 8-10 hour surgery to wait through. So I'm going along as the nanny! I'll stay with Madelyn and Caroline, help out around the house, and do whatever Cara and Jason need me to do. We leave on a Thursday morning and I will be home on Monday evening. They have to stay for 2 weeks. It will be hard to leave my boys for the first time for a trip but I know Cara and Jason need my help. I will be out of school, Andy will be taking care of the boys, my mom and dad bought my plane ticket, so there was no reason not to go help out! It will be fun! You can read more about Silas' surgery on Cara's blog. His right ear, pictured below will undergo microtia surgery to repair the outer ear. They will return in December to repair both the outer and inner left ear. His right inner ear cannot be repaired due to a facial nerve and the possibility of damaging the nerve so just the outer ear will be repaired this June.

Girl's Lunch!

Me, my mom, and my sister went to lunch at the Glitz today. It was so fun! We rarely have the opportunity to be together without children! We had lots of time to talk and all enjoyed our food. We all had a spinach/marinara/phyllo turnover for the appetizer. Then for main entree Cara and I had the Turkey Crepes and mom had the Beef Stew. This came with a small salad as well. Then for dessert we each chose something different. My mom chose banana pudding, Cara got the meringue with jamocha icecream, and I chose the berry sorbet seen below. It was very good and we were stuffed. Then we walked around for a few minutes looking at the antiques. It was a great afternoon! Thanks, mom!

Luke's first ear infection with tubes :(

Well, almost 9 months, tubes are expected to come out at the end of February, and Luke's cold turned into an ear infection a couple days ago. Thankfully we were able to locate the special ear drops the ENT gave us 9 months ago and have been treating the ear infection at home as instructed. It's goopy and crusty and gross. It hurts him. But, he likes getting the drops! Which is huge! He laughs and tells daddy it tickles.

My boys have the BEST daddy in the world. He takes such good care of them while I'm at school. He's also enjoy his two days a week where both boys are at parents day out so he can get some quality office time at church! I'm so glad he is getting a break.

Luke's appetite hasn't been good. We made the meal he gobbled up here a couple days ago and he wouldn't touch it!

I'm soo tired! Friday's are always like this for me. The week went fast but I'm worn out!

Tomorrow is Cara's birthday! Happy almost b-day to my wonderful sister. Make sure to follow-up on their adoption here. I'm really looking forward to celebrating tomorrow evening. Me, Andy, Cara, Jason, Mom, Dad, Maw, and Paw (notice no kiddos!) are going to dinner at PF Chang's! To celebrate mine and Cara's b-days. Cara and I are sharing one baby-sitter for the cousins. We'll actually be able to have adult conversations! That doesn't happen much at family get togethers with 4 toddlers running around! Soon to be 5 when our sweet little Silas (linked are pics from his orphangae he's the one in a blue walker with an orange shirt) comes home to be with his family! Hugs and kisses, Silas!
