Wilson has tubes!

Yesterday Wilson did so well getting his tubes. I am so thankful that they are in - now he'll be able to hear better! He did such a good job at the Surgery Center. I think he wanted tubes badly enough (so that he could hear) that he didn't whine about it too much beforehand. The night before he realized getting tubes gave him an extra day off so he was okay with it!! The morning of he was hungry and upset about not being able to eat. Once we got there I could tell he was nervous but he held it together. I was so proud of him! We had explained how everything would work and the nurses there were very kind to him. When it was time for him to walk back without us he was definitely nervous and did not want us to leave him - but we had to. I hated not being able to stay with him until he was asleep but I made myself walk away and told him I loved him and he could do it! He held the male nurse's hand and walked with him. He didn't want to ride on the rolling bed! Then Andy and I turned the corner and sneakily watched him walk all the way down the hall like a big, brave boy! I was so proud of him because I know that it was hard for him to do. About 15-20 minutes later he was done and starting to wake up. He got a purple popsicle. Then we took him to Pan*era, his breakfast choice so he could get a pumpkin muffin. He ate the WHOLE thing! Usually he just gets a muffie...so this was pretty special!!

Luke's first ear infection with tubes :(

Well, almost 9 months, tubes are expected to come out at the end of February, and Luke's cold turned into an ear infection a couple days ago. Thankfully we were able to locate the special ear drops the ENT gave us 9 months ago and have been treating the ear infection at home as instructed. It's goopy and crusty and gross. It hurts him. But, he likes getting the drops! Which is huge! He laughs and tells daddy it tickles.

My boys have the BEST daddy in the world. He takes such good care of them while I'm at school. He's also enjoy his two days a week where both boys are at parents day out so he can get some quality office time at church! I'm so glad he is getting a break.

Luke's appetite hasn't been good. We made the meal he gobbled up here a couple days ago and he wouldn't touch it!

I'm soo tired! Friday's are always like this for me. The week went fast but I'm worn out!

Tomorrow is Cara's birthday! Happy almost b-day to my wonderful sister. Make sure to follow-up on their adoption here. I'm really looking forward to celebrating tomorrow evening. Me, Andy, Cara, Jason, Mom, Dad, Maw, and Paw (notice no kiddos!) are going to dinner at PF Chang's! To celebrate mine and Cara's b-days. Cara and I are sharing one baby-sitter for the cousins. We'll actually be able to have adult conversations! That doesn't happen much at family get togethers with 4 toddlers running around! Soon to be 5 when our sweet little Silas (linked are pics from his orphangae he's the one in a blue walker with an orange shirt) comes home to be with his family! Hugs and kisses, Silas! Your family is so ready for you to be home. I can't wait to see you and hold you. I hope you let me!

Our Little Lukie

Luke had an appointment with an ENT today due to his large number of ear infections over the past 6 months. I was a little nervous but overall glad that maybe his poor little ears would finally get some relief with tubes. The doctor was really nice and said that Luke had fluid on the right ear but no infection. He recommended tubes and we said absolutely. Luke's surgery is scheduled for July 18th. It is very minor, they put him to sleep with laughing gas, insert the tubes and then let him wake up. They said the surgery itself takes only 5minutes. The main part I'm dreading is them taking him away and not being able to go with him when he goes back for surgery. I am glad they are able to get to it so quickly! Hopefully Luke won't have another infection between now and July 18th.
